Abstract: In this talk I will provide an overview of my past research using pupillometry to index auditory attention. For example, we have previously shown that on-going changes in pupil size become synchronized with the rhythmic structure of music and that the degree of synchrony between pupil and music can predict listeners’ subjective feeling of absorption into the music. I will then discuss current work and other potential measures of interest, such as eyeblinks and gaze, ending with future directions using webcam eye-tracking and mobile eye-tracking in more naturalistic contexts.
