I am interested in various aspects of human spatial cognition. My main areas of interest are:

Risk perception during urban cycling

My main research interest throughout the last years is concerned with risk perception during urban cycling², and how this perception is linked to the spatial configuration of the local environment.

Landmarks in human orientation and wayfinding

I am analyzing the salience of landmarks with a focus on their structural salience (as compared to their visual and semantic salience) with a wide range of methods encompassing sketch map analyses, mobile eye tracking, and space syntax.
