Research Interests and publications
I am interested in various aspects of human spatial cognition. My main areas of interest are:
Risk perception during urban cycling
My main research interest throughout the last years is concerned with risk perception during urban cycling, and how this perception is linked to the spatial configuration of the local environment.

Landmarks in human orientation and wayfinding
I am analyzing the salience of landmarks with a focus on their structural salience (as compared to their visual and semantic salience) with a wide range of methods encompassing sketch map analyses, mobile eye tracking, and space syntax.

Modeling of neighbourhood spaces
As part of the SoNaTe project, I am currently trying to the determine the space and shape of what people consider as their neighorhood.
